Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why did you move the Boys Varsity Divisions to Saturday and Boys Youth Divisions to Sunday?

A: In the spring on 2011, the Virginia High School League amended their Out-of-Season Practice Rule to allow coaches to "practice" with their teams at certain times throughout the off-season.  This came at a price.  The price is that coaches may NOT coach, have contact, or OBSERVE their teams on SUNDAYS at any time during the year.  Since the Fall Brawl was designed to give coaches a "sneak-peek" at their teams prior to the spring season, this change was necessary.

UPDATE - In September of 2011, the VHSL adjusted the rules to allow coaches to OBSERVE their players on Sundays but not coach.  To avoid confusion for 2011, we will leave divisions as scheduled.

Q:  What do I get for my entry fee?

A: Each team is guaranteed six games (four games for the U9 and U11 Divisions) over the course of the tournament, a Fall Brawl team T-Shirt which they will wear as his uniform, a well run, fun tournament and medical attention if so required.

Q: Where is the Fall Brawl?

A: The Boys Division is hosted at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, Virginia and the Girls Division is hosted at Lanier Middle School in Fairfax, Virginia.

Q: Why should I attend the Fall Brawl?

A: Simply...to have fun playing the game of lacrosse.  Our tournament is special in that we don't worry about college coaches, recruiting and All-Star teams.  This tournament is for the teams that will play together in the spring to get some action and to have fun...what lacrosse is REALLY about.

Q: Do I need to be a member of US Lacrosse to participate in the Fall Brawl?

A: No

Q: Is there medical attention at the tournament if it is needed?

A: Yes! There is a certified training staff on duty both days of the tournament.

Q: Are there “REAL” officials at the Fall Brawl?

A:  Yes! All of our officials are certified VLOA officials.

Q: How long has the Fall Brawl been in existence?

A: The Fairfax Fall Brawl was created in 2002 and had 24 teams competing in 3 divisions that year. 2011 will mark the 10th year and will have over 150 teams competing in 12 different divisions.

Q: Who do I contact if I have more questions?

A: Contact the Tournament Director – Marty Joyner at marty@fallbrawllacrosse.com
